Hero Cop

It was a day as dark as any for South Florida law enforcement - January 20, 2011. That was the day Miami Dade police detectives Amanda Haworth and Roger Castillo were gunned down while trying to serve a homicide warrant. Their murders shocked the consciousness of the community and thousands filled the American Airlines Arena for their memorial service. But since then, little has been revealed about what actually happened on that unseasonably warm winter day… at least until now. In his first and only interview, Detective Oscar Plasencia talks exclusively to CBS4 News about the deaths of his partners and the gun battle he survived.
