MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Help catch a criminal using a new app - released by the FBI.
The bureau launched its mobile "FBI Bank Robbers" application for iPhones and Androids - making it easier for the public to help in their investigations.
Users on the app can sort bank robberies by date, category, state, and location.
You can view surveillance photos, physical description information, details of the robbery, and the wanted poster for each suspected bank robber.
The app will also notify a user when a bank robbery has taken place near their location.
For those who end up spotting a suspected bank robber, the app has a link that will quickly connect them to the FBI's online tips page.
It's an app, the bureau says is meant to make communities safer.
"Our new Bank Robbers mobile app is another tool we can use to help mitigate...suspects who pose the greatest safety threats to the public," said Gregory Adams with the FBI Violent Crimes Unit.
According to the bureau, there were 4,091 robberies, burglaries, and larcenies committed in 2015. Of all of those incidents, bank robbers seemed to favor demand notes.
