"Heineken With A Heart" Begins N4N Holiday Drive
DORAL, Fla. (CBS4) - South Floridians came together at a Chevy's Restaurant at 8191 NW 12th Street in Doral to help needy families celebrate the holidays.
Neighbors 4 Neighbors held their annual "Heineken with a Heart" event to raise money for its Adopt-a-Family program.
This year Heineken returned as a sponsor with their "Heineken with a Heart" Campaign to help raise even more money to help fund more families.
In the crowd, CBS 4 personalities Shanon Hori, Jim Berry, Cynthia Demos, Michael Williams and Peter D'oench. The crowd paid ten dollars for an all you can eat buffett at Chevys in Doral and an all you can drink Heineken beer.
The program raises money to provide presents and holiday meals to help families struggling to make it in these tough times. Families like the Milhommes, who applied this year to get adopted, will get gifts this season a relief for Rosebelle Milhommes who at 28 is a single mother to four children studying to be a paralegal.
"It is hard to be a single parent and the other person is not in the kids life," said Rosebelle Milhomme to CBS4's Jorge Estevez from their home in Oakland Park.
Neighbors 4 Neighbors also serves families who are not matched with an adopter. Many companies, schools, and other organizations have organized toy drives and collected monetary donations to help us serve these families.
At the event held Tuesday night, Neighbors 4 Neighbors raised $2,428 dollars.
