Heat's Back Against The Wall Heading To Boston
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – As the Miami Heat walked off the court after Game 5, the reality began to set in for the players and the fans; it looks like another season full of promise is going to come up short of even the NBA Finals this year.
The Heat looked like the same old team as the final minutes wound off the clock in Game 5. Dwyane Wade was at the top of the key dribbling, LeBron James was in the corner standing motionless, and Chris Bosh was sitting on the bench.
Given the Heat's history since the Big Three came together, the game ending in a loss should come as a surprise to no one. The Heat were outplayed, outhustled, outworked, and even outcoached in Game 5 and now stand one game away from elimination.
The Heat shot just 39 percent from the field and outside of Wade and James, the rest of the team made a total of 11 field goals in the game. Udonis Haslem was 1-5, Mario Chalmers was 3-7, Chris Bosh was 3-8, James Jones was 1-4, Mike Miller was 1-3, and Norris Cole was 0-4.
In the Eastern Conference Finals, playing like that will doom any team to a loss.
The Heat were even worse from behind the three-point line where they shot 26.9 percent on 26 shots behind the three-point line. LeBron and Wade combined to shoot 3-9 or 33 percent from long range.
After a horrendous performance in Game 5, the Heat must now travel back to the house of horror for the team, Boston. The Heat are on the cusp of elimination and if the team doesn't learn how to execute as a team by the time Game 6 tips off, then it will be another lost season for the Big Three and Miami.
