Heat Start Playoff Run Saturday
MIAMI (CBS4) - The Miami Heat secured the number two seed in the Eastern Conference in the 2011 playoffs on Monday. Now, the Heat knows when they'll open their NBA Championship pursuit at the American Airlines Arena.
The Heat will tipoff against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. It will be the first game in the Heat's "White Hot" campaign to capture the NBA Title.
The 76ers have a fairly balanced attack. Elton Brand leads the way with 15 points and 8 rebounds per game. But, Andre Iguodala, Jrue Holiday, Louis Williams, Thaddeus Young, and Jodie Meeks are all scoring in double figures for the season.
The 76ers has an average assist to turnover ratio of 23 – 13 and are being outrebounded by their opponents 42.6 to 41.8.
If the Heat get by the 76ers, they will then be matched up against the winner of the first round playoff series between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks.
