Heat Playoff Tickets On Sale Saturday
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat will enter the NBA Playoffs hoping to finish off the journey they began when the Big Three joined forces in South Florida. The Heat announced Wednesday that tickets to the opening round of the playoffs will go on sale Saturday.
The Heat said tickets will be on sale starting Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at Heat.com; Ticketmaster.com; at all Ticketmaster outlets; or by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX. Tickets will not be sold at the AmericanAirlines box office until Monday, April 23.
The Heat will also be bringing back the White Hot Heat promotion for this year's playoff run. The Heat have used the campaign both times the team reached the NBA Finals, including last year's Finals run that ended with Dallas knocking off the Heat in six games.
When it comes to who the Heat will play in the first round, that's still to be decided in the final games of the regular season.
If the playoffs started Wednesday, the Heat would face the New York Knicks in the first round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs. But, that's not guaranteed to stay that way through the end of the regular season.
The Knicks are just one game ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers for the seventh position in the playoffs. On the flip side, Miami is just 2.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls for the number one overall seed in the Eastern Conference.
If the Bulls go on a losing streak and Miami keeps winning, the Heat could theoretically catch the Bulls, but it's not likely to happen. If New York loses its grip on the seventh playoff spot, it would elevate the 76ers to the seventh spot to match up against the Heat in the opening round.
It may not matter much for the Heat if the play the Knicks or 76ers in the opening round. The Heat hasn't lost a game this season to either the 76ers or Knicks.
If Miami stays the number two seed, they will likely face the winner of a likely matchup between the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic.
All of the potential matchups though are subject to change by the time the final horn is sounded on the last game of the regular season.
