Heat May Be Down 4 Players Against Knicks
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat will likely be short-handed Thursday night when they face the New York Knicks at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
Head coach Erik Spoelstra said point guards Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole along with forwards Udonis Haslem and Shane Battier will all be game-time decisions as to whether they can play.
Spoelstra said Chalmers and Battier went through Thursday morning's shootaround. Chalmers was the last player to go down to injury when he tore a ligament in his finger during a loss to the woeful Washington Wizards.
If all four can't go for the Heat, the team will be left with the Big Three plus Ray Allen, Joel Anthony, Josh Harrelson, James Jones, Rashard Lewis, Terrel Harris, Mike Miller, and Dexter Pittman.
On the flip side, the Knicks' Carmelo Anthony suffered a slight injury in his last game, but the Heat expect Anthony to be ready to go for Thursday's game.
