MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat's injury woes continue to be a major hindrance on the team.
Late Tuesday night it was reported by Yahoo Sports that backup point guard Beno Udrih will have season-ending surgery on his right foot.
Udrih was hurt during Miami's overtime win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday night and had an MRI on Tuesday.
The Heat lost guard Tyler Johnson for the season earlier this month to shoulder surgery and traded the briefly acquired Brian Roberts after just one practice with the team so there is a major shortage at the position in Miami.
Starting point guard Goran Dragic will likely see an increase in minutes and rookie Josh Richardson's role should also expand.
