Heat Finals Tickets On Sale

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Miami Heat are headed to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2006 and if you want to get into one of the games, your time is running out.

That's because a limited number of tickets went on sale to the general public at 1:00 p.m. The Heat have placed a four ticket purchase limit for the Finals.

The tickets will be available online at Heat.com, ticketmaster.com, or by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX. Tickets will not be on sale at the AmericanAirlines Arena box office for the initial sale.

But you can get your Heat gear at the AAA. Fans began pouring in early Friday morning to get their hands on Heat NBA Finals gear. From hats to t-shirts and everything in between, items were flying off the shelves.

"It's crazy right now," said Andy Montero of Heat retail sales. "You can see the whole city of Miami is with us right now. We love it."

And it's bandwagon fans from Europe like Manuel Sales of Portugal to die hard Heat fans like Miguel Dominguez.

"They inspired me no doubt about it," Sales said. "They are great team. They are great group of players."

"It's more than a game," Dominguez said. "Just the love, the passion, the sport. We've been waiting a while for this."

With just 4 days to prepare for the NBA Finals, it's going to be a challenge for the Heat organization, but they feel like they're ready.

"Most of us got little or no sleep last night," said Michael McCullugh, executive vice-president of marketing for the Heat. "And we are here again today because the game is here on Tuesday. It was going to be a nice memorial weekend break, and that went out the window and we couldn't be happier about that.'

The Heat also announced they will intermittently release Lower Level tickets throughout the days leading up to both games. The tickets are for NBA executives and personnel and will sell quickly.

Game 1 will be played Tuesday, May 31 at the AAA and Game 2 will be played Thursday June 2. Tip off for both games will be 9:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Plus, the Heat revealed to CBS4's David Sutta that last night's road rally was such a huge success that more are planned for the Heat's three road games in the NBA Finals, assuming of course all the road games are needed.

"Once we go on the road, we will have the road rally here at the AmericanAirlines Arena," McCullugh said. "Maybe one outdoors similar to what we had last night."
