Heat Fans Who Left Early Locked Out Of Thrilling Win

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A come from behind win by the Miami Heat in Game 6 sent fans into a frenzy.

Unfortunately some people who had tickets to the game never got to see it because they left the AmericanAirlines Arena early.

When the Heat were down by four points with 30 seconds to go, some fans decided it was 'game over' and left in an effort to beat the traffic.

While they were outside they heard that the Heat had tied it up and the game was going into overtime. By that time it was too late.

Security had secured the doors and the upset fans were not allowed back inside to watch the Heat's 103-100 victory.

"Are you kidding me bro, are you kidding me bro," said one fan stuck outside.

"Everyone's going crazy, oh my God," said one fan forced to watch the end of the game through the arena's glass doors.

Chants of "Let's Go Heat" broke out in the crowd around the arena when the final buzzer sounded.

"Nobody's going to take us, not in our house. It's our house. Go back to San Antonio," yelled one excited fan.

"Never doubt us. Never doubt the defending champions," said another.

Most callers to Mark Hochman's show on sports radio 790 The Ticket had no sympathy for the fans who were locked out.

"You can't call yourself a Heat fan and walk out before it's over. It's not over til it's over, especially with our Heat, said one caller.

But Hochman stood by the ousted and angry fans.

"They should've been let back in. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, the the fans made a mistake," said Hochman.

Tickets for Game 7 in Miami against the Spurs will go on sale online Wednesday at 2 p.m. A check on StubHub.com Wednesday morning showed that standing room only tickets start at $425 and upper level seats start at $600.

The game is Thursday – tip off at 9 p.m.
