Heat Fans Show Their Support With Fashion Statements
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Heat fans ready to get fashionable for the Finals will be happy to know that the team store has got them covered - literally.
Heat fashions for women have become bigger than ever this year.
"It's big. Everyone's buying, the stuff is really popular and it's all right here," said Andy Montero, Vice President of retail for The Miami Heat store.
Some designers have caught the 'White Hot' Heat fever. Popular brands like Miss Fanatic, a woman's apparel company created by a former Orlando Magic dancer, and Peace Love World, a national line founded in Miami, have created exclusive pieces for the team.
With the Heat being in the Finals again, fans have scooped up anything and everything that supports the team.
A black and white sequined Heat bikini by Miss Fanatic, for example, will run you $45.00. Heat fans say they like to show their support all year long.
"You can wear it all the time," said customer Vanessa Padron. "You can wear a shirt with shorts or skinny jeans and you are good to go."
But don't be fooled by imitators. Counterfeit merchandise may be cheap but it's not guaranteed to last.
So how can you spot the real thing?
"One thing to look for is the NBA hologram attached to the label. It tells you its good quality and real NBA merchandise," said Montero.
Some die hard Heats have taken their support for the team to the next level by getting team inspired hair cuts. For example, Exclusive Barbers in Hollywood has already shaved official Heat logos into the back of many fans' heads.
When it's all said and done, if the Miami Heat win the title you can join in on the celebration and pop open a bottle of Moët & Chandon White Imperial Champagne, which is the official champagne of the White Hot Playoffs.
