Heat Cool Off Lakers, 94-88
MIAMI (CBS4) - The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers came into Thursday's game going in opposite directions. The Heat were on a five-game losing streak, and the Lakers were on an eight-game winning streak. But, it was the Heat who finally won a close one, 94-88.
Chris Bosh had 24 points and Dwyane Wade added another 20 in a game the Heat had to have to try and quiet some of the critics.
It didn't look like the Heat would be able to pull it out after the third quarter. The Heat gave up a 9-0 run in the third to put the Lakers ahead. Chris Bosh remained on the attack in the third, but Wade and Lebron James were ice cold in the third quarter.
But for the first time in a long time, when it came to crunch time in the fourth quarter, Wade, LeBron and Bosh came through to help lift the Heat to victory.
LeBron finished with 19 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds for the Heat. But perhaps more important for the Heat, they got bench production from Mike Miller who scored 12 points.
Kobe Bryant scored 24 points for the Lakers, whose eight-game winning streak was snapped. Pau Gasol added 20 and Andrew Bynum finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds for Los Angeles, which went 0-2 against Miami this season.
