Haz-Mat Situation Delays Several Flights At FLL
DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) - Several flights were delayed Wednesday night after officials found a package containing potentially hazardous materials in the lower level customs area.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport spokesperson Greg Meyer said three incoming flights were forced to wait on the tarmac while officials investigated the situation.
The suspicious package reportedly came in on a flight from Haiti.
The all clear was given about two hours after the materials were found to be not hazardous.
Officials have not confirmed what the materials were.
