Have A Duff By Heading South
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Don't you wish sometimes that you could push up to Moe's and order yourself a Duff beer alongside Homer Simpson?
Well, Moe's may not be out there, but if you travel to South America, you can turn up a glass of Duff, whose motto is, "Yes it does exist," according to CBSMiami.com news partner the Miami Herald.
Duff's makers said they aren't allowed to talk to the U.S. media, but the company doesn't keep a low profile in places like Colombia and Chile. The Chilean franchise owner said he wants to sell nearly a million dollars worth of Duff this year.
So while many South Floridians can get a glass of Duff as they travel home to visit Latin American countries, don't expect to see it in the United States anytime soon.
20th Century Fox has never licensed Duff in the U.S., and Simpson's creator Matt Groenig said that bringing Duff to the states would be the equivalent to pushing alcohol on minors, according to the Herald.
Coincidentally, when Duff hit the real world, it was produced in Tijuana at the "Simpsons Brewing Company."
It's enough to make you say, "mmmmm.....Beer."
