Havana Building Collapse Kills 3, Injures 6
HAVANA, Cuba (CBSMiami) - Three people died and half a dozen people were injured in Tuesday night when a condemned building collapsed in Central Havana.
Cuban TV is reporting that a side wall fell inward on the three story building, which caused the roof to ultimately cave in.
The building on Salud and Infanta streets had been condemned and deemed unsafe, but people had continued to live there.
Sources within Cuba say it's not unusual for people to take shelter inside condemned buildings because they have nowhere else to go, or do not want to go to a government shelter.
