Hallandale Sex Offender Released Twice, Back Behind Bars
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A registered sex offender who was released on bond after being charged with attempted sexual battery on a minor and possession of cocaine is back behind bars.
According to the Hallandale Beach police, David Becker, 57, was arrested on October 22nd and ordered held without on bond after he allegedly tried to have sex with a 16-year old girl. A police report showed the girl said Becker helped her with her "life problems." During the evening, the teen said Becker told her he loved her and began acting "weird." The report says Becker undressed then wrapped the "victims belt around her face/mouth and began to unbutton her pants."
The victim told police Becker tore off her clothes and tried to force her to perform a sex act on him. She told detectives she was able to dress and flee the home.
Just about three weeks later, on November 11th, during a second bond hearing, Becker was granted bail and released.
Ten days later Hallandale Beach police arrested Becker after they responded to a report of a home invasion robbery at his residence. Police didn't find any evidence of a robbery, but what they did find was people cooking cocaine into crack, and then smoking the result. Becker was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana and Tampering with Evidence. The following day he was once again released from the Broward County Jail after being issued and paying another bond.
But it just wasn't his day.
Approximately five hours later he was arrested again and charged with violating the terms of his pre-trial release.
Again the judge has ordered that he be held without bond.
