Haitian President Attending NAACP Convention In Orlando
ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) - The United State's oldest civil rights organization will mark the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and the 50th anniversary of the assassination of civil rights leader Medger Evers at the NAACP convention in Orlando over the next few days.
The convention will also feature Haiti's president, Michel Martelly, who is expected to attend the convention in Central Florida on Friday.
Martelly and his wife are expected to join other U.S. elected officials and NAACP leaders at the convention.
The convention opens to the public on Saturday and will continue through next Wednesday.
