Habitable Planet Found Outside Our Solar System
CAPE CANAVERAL (CBSMiami/AP) – A telescope in space has discovered a huge planet just outside our solar system which would be an ideal place for life.
NASA has named the planet Kepler-22-B after the Kepler telescope which found it. It's the first planet discovered by the Kepler telecope that's confirmed habitable.
Experts have said this could be a so-called 'Goldilocks' planet because it's not too hot or too cold; in fact it appears to have roughly similar surface temperatures to that of Earth.
The space agency, however, doesn't have any plans to send a ship there to check it out. The planet is about 600 light years away from Earth.
