Gulfstream's Casinos Remain Closed Due To Fish Tank Flood
HALLANDALE BEACH (CBSMiami) – Gulfstream Park's two casinos remained closed after a massive fish tank on a second floor sprung a leak over the weekend.
A seam in the aquarium in the second-floor casino cracked open early Sunday. Around 12:30 a.m. patrons in the casino hear a crack and pop and then saw a flood of water. It's estimated that 10,000 of the tanks 13,000 gallons of water leaked out before employees could stem the flow with rags.
All the fish inside the tank were saved.
President and general manager Tim Ritvo says two floors of slot machines and the poker room will be closed for at least a few days. Gulfstream's shops, dining rooms and simulcast area remain open.
