Guide To The Broward County Convention Center

The Broward County Convention Center hosts world renowned trade shows, seminars, and other large-scale special events throughout the year. Doors on the massive three-story, 370,000-square-foot facility originally opened in September, 1991. To give you an idea of it's size, 19 covered docks allow for the loading and unloading of large exhibits for events like the, 'Home Redecorating and Design Show.'

Getting There

Bordered by the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale, getting to the Convention Center is an easy drive from most of South Florida's main highways. Traffic tends to get hectic in the area during large events so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there.

From Miami-Dade County:
I-95 or Florida's Turnpike NORTH
I-595 EAST
Exit at US-1 NORTH
Proceed to SE 17th St.
East on SE 17th St. to Eisenhower Blvd.
Right on Eisenhower
Follow signs to the Convention Center

Rates at the Port Everglades Northport Parking Garage are hourly. For 1-5 hours the rate is $6, 7-9 hours is $10, and the maximum day rate is $15. The parking garage at the Convention Center is connected via 2 glass enclosed skywalks.

Shows and Exhibits

The Broward County Convention Center has hosted game shows like Wheel of Fortune and more intimate events like the NFL Commissioners party. A major part of Broward's toursim revenue is generated by visitors attending the Convention Center for conferences or other events.
