Gucci To Open First South Florida Outlet Store
SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – If you're a Gucci fan, you'll love this. The high end fashion retailer is opening its first outlet store in South Florida just in time for Black Friday.
The luxury retailer will open its temporary location at The Oasis at Sawgrass Mills Mall but after the holidays, it'll move to a permanent location as part of the ongoing expansion of The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills, which will be completed in early 2013.
"Sawgrass Mills continues to further its position as one of the leading outlet shopping destinations in the world with an unbeatable selection of retailers," said Luanne Lenberg, VP and GM at Sawgrass Mills. "Gucci, one of several exclusive retailers at Sawgrass Mills will enhance our unique brand of shopping and meet shopper demand for more luxury brands for less."
The 40,000-square-foot expansion of The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills will include two new buildings with a dozen luxury brand retailers located to the east of Villagio, across from the existing retail structure.
Other high end stores already at The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills, including Prada, Canali, Tag Heuer, Tommy Bahama, Tumi, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Valentino, Salvatore Ferragamo, David Yurman, Judith Ripka, St. John and Giorgio Armani.
Gucci only has 7 other outlet stores in the U.S. The closest one to South Florida is in St. Augustine.
Sawgrass Mills will be opening its doors for Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving at 9 p.m.
