Group Of Sea Turtle Hatchlings Rescued From Storm Drain
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – This time of year, it's common for sea turtle hatchlings to get disoriented, and wander in the wrong direction—groups of turtles did just that, ending up in storm drains along the beach.
Tuesday night, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Ladder 13 responded to 1200 North Atlantic Blvd to a request for an animal rescue.
After searching the storm drains along the beach, rescue, along with Broward County Sea Turtle rescue, came upon groups of stranded turtles struggling to free themselves.
The turtles were unharmed and left in the care of the Turtle oversight organization.
If you see a turtle, or group of turtles, in distress, call 954-404-0025.
