HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) -- A South Florida group is asking for the public's help to find a person who tied a rope around a cat's neck and left him in the street.

A homeowner in Hollywood called the group Undercats4Life saying there was a cat under a car with a rope tied around his neck.

The group went to the location and were able to coax the cat out from under the car.

They later took him to a Davie veterinarian who treated him.

The rope was so tight, it had caused parts of his neck to go raw and pulled his eye back.

After two surgeries, the feline is still recovering. The veterinarian will need to put stitches on the cat's eye, but his vision does not seem to be affected.

The group is asking anyone who knows anything to please come forward.

They are even offering a reward for anyone who know who did that to the cat.

It is not know when and if the cat will be put up for adoption.
