Gov. Scott's Numbers Remain Low In New "Q" Poll

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) - Though he won a second term in November, Gov. Rick Scott continues to be viewed unfavorably by large numbers of Florida voters.
A Quinnipiac University poll released Monday indicated 49 percent of voters disapprove of the way Scott is handling his job, while 42 percent approve. The numbers are almost identical to an April 2014 "Q" poll which found that 50 percent of voters disapproved of the way Scott was handling his job, while 42 percent approved.
The new poll gave better marks to Florida senators Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson. It indicated that 54 percent of voters approve of the way Rubio, a Republican, is handling his job, while 35 percent disapprove. The poll showed 45 percent of voters approve of the way Nelson, a Democrat, is handling his job, while 30 percent disapprove.
The poll of 1,087 Florida voters was conducted from March 17 to March 28.
