Gov. Scott Requests Isaac-Related Money For Monroe
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) — Along with six other counties, Monroe County might receive federal grant money after Tropical Storm Isaac brushed by Florida.
The money would be made possible after last week's request by Governor Rick Scott.
The governor's office requested that federal Public Assistance grants be made available for Bay, Collier, Escambia, Monroe, Okaloosa, Palm Beach, and Santa Rosa counties, and also asked for money from Washington for the state Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
The money would reimburse local governments for debris removal costs and other costs related to damage to public facilities from the storm, which brushed by Florida two weeks ago.
Parts of Palm Beach County had more than 15 inches of rain because of the storm.
