Gov. Scott Heads To Paris On Trade Mission
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) — Governor Rick Scott will head out of state on a week-long trade mission to Paris where he hopes to drum up more jobs for the Sunshine State.
Scott will lead a delegation of more than 70 people from the state to visit the 50th International Paris Air Show.
Those traveling with the governor include First Lady Ann Scott, business executives and three legislators.
The Paris Air Show is considered one of the world's leading aviation and aerospace trade fairs. The last air show held in 2011 attracted more than 350,000 attendees. Florida imports aircraft parts and equipment to nations around the world.
This is Scott's ninth-trade related trip he has taken since he became governor in 2011.
He said Thursday that he is going on the trade mission to build relationships and help foster the creation of more jobs in the state.
