Gov. Rick Scott Names New Head Of Transportation
TALLAHASSEE (CBS4) - Governor Rick Scott has named Ananth Prasad, a professional engineer with years of experience with the state, secretary of the Department of Transportation late Monday, according to the News Service of Florida.
Prasad has worked for the department for 18 years, and is one of the last major agency heads to be appointed by Gov. Scott.
He holds a masters degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida and currently serves as DOT's assistant secretary for engineering and operations.
Scott, who has been criticized by some observers for being slow to fill key positions within the state, still has to name heads of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, the Department of Elder Affairs, and the Florida Department for Veterans Affairs.
