Goodell Said Super Bowl Will Be Back In New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS (CBSMiami) – Super Bowl XLVII will be remembered as much for being the night the lights went out in New Orleans as the Ravens winning. But, according to the NFL, a power outage and massive delay in the game is acceptable, but if it rains, that might be a step too far.
According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said after the game, "I fully expect we'll (sic) back for future Super Bowls in New Orleans."
Remember, part of the reason the Miami Dolphins have to push for major renovations to Sun Life Stadium is that Goodell said a few years ago that Miami may not be in line for another Super Bowl without a roof and major stadium improvements.
New Orleans and Miami have both hosted multiple Super Bowls with the Big Easy and the Magic City both hosting the game 10 times.
Next year's Super Bowl will be in New York/New Jersey followed by Phoenix in 2015. Miami is currently bidding on Super Bowl L, which is the fiftieth anniversary Super Bowl. Dolphins officials have said without the upgrades at Sun Life, Miami may not win the next Super Bowl.
