Gold Chain Snatched In NW Dade Armed Robbery

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami-Dade police have asked the public for help in finding two men who robbed a man at gunpoint in front of two children.

It happened May 28th just after 5 p.m.

Andres Durant, 29, was in a car parked at 7301 NW 32nd Avenue when a white van pulled up in front of him and blocked their path. In the car with Durant were two children, 10- year old Aneylis Durant and 7-year old Abdiel Durant, and 51-year old Lucio Martinez.

The driver of the van got out and pointed a gun at Durant and his family and ordered them to get out of the vehicle.

Surveillance video shows one man get out of the passenger side of the car and try to protect the children in the back seat.  The armed man runs to him, snatches a gold chain from his neck and then runs back to the driver's side to try and steal the vehicle's keys.  The driver fights back and the armed runs back to the van and drives off.

It was later located in the area of NW 63rd Court and 21st Avenue. A records check revealed it had been reported stolen in Miami on March 31st.
