Gert Weakens To Post Tropical Low
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Tropical Storm Gert has weakened to a post tropical low in open waters, says the National Hurricane Center.
At 5 p.m. Tuesday, the center of the system was located about 750 miles northeast of Bermuda. The storm was headed to the northeast at about 29 miles per hour.
Maximum sustained winds have dropped to about 40 miles per hour and tropical storm force winds extend approximately 65 miles from the storm's center.
The NHC said Gert will most likely lose its tropical characteristics in the next 24 hours.
