SANTA CLARA, Calif. (CBSMiami) -- Even in the midst of Super Bowl frenzy there are frustrated Dolphin fans.
"It's been a rough few years for me, you know? Hopefully Tannehill can bring it back for us," said one Fin fan in Santa Clara for the big game.
CBS4's Jim Berry took the national pulse of the Dolphins while walking around the Super Bowl 50 Media Center. He spoke with former players, analysts, and celebrities.
Former NFL wide Receiver Terrell Owens said, "I haven't followed the Miami Dolphins. If they're not calling me to play for them I haven't been paying any attention to them."
NFL pundit Sean Salisbury was more insightful telling us, "I think they got the right people in place, I do, in the front office. The thing that's been a concern of mine since Dan (Marino) and Coach Shula left is the continuity."
ESPN Sports Science scientist John Brenkus believes the Dolphins could be the next Carolina Panthers, while MMA fighter Chuck Lidell was simply speechless.
Within the organization, it's been thumbs up all around. Receiver Greg Jennings said, "The things that I have heard have been minimal but it's about the coaching changes and what Adam Gase is going to bring to the table and the excitement surrounding that."
Mike Tannenbaum, the Dolphins V.P. of Football Operations, blasted their 6-10 record in 2015, but sees signs of optimism.
"We're really excited about what we see in the short-term in terms of improving our roster… With Adam as our leader working with Ryan Tannehill every day – there's a lot of things to be excited about."
