Gators Play SEC Newbies Texas A&M, Missouri In '12
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida will play Southeastern Conference newcomers Texas A&M and Missouri during the 2012 season, part of a realigned schedule that has the Gators ending the regular season with three non-conference games.
The Gators open the season Sept. 1 at home against Bowling Green, and then travel to College Station, Texas, to face the Aggies in their SEC debut. Florida plays at Tennessee on Sept. 15, and then gets six of their next eight games at home. The Gators host Kentucky, LSU, South Carolina and Missouri, and play at Vanderbilt and against Georgia in Jacksonville.
Florida's final three games are against non-conference opponents: UL-Lafayette, Jacksonville State and at Florida State. Selling tickets for those final two home games could be a challenge if the Gators aren't in the SEC hunt.
