Gators' Brantley Out For Auburn Game
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (CBSMiami.com) – Fresh off a second straight stomping at the hands of an SEC West foe, the University of Florida will try to right the ship against Auburn. But they'll do so without their starting quarterback.
Gators head coach Will Muschamp announced Monday that John Brantley would miss his second straight game.
Freshman Jacoby Brissett, a native of South Florida, started in Brantley's place against LSU because fellow freshman Jeff Driskel was dealing with a sprained ankle.
Brissett completed eight of 14 passes for 94 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against LSU's ferocious defense.
Muschamp said Brissett will take first team snaps this week, but Driskel could also get back into the quarterback rotation.
