Gables Man Sentenced For Illegally Exporting Military Equipment

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – A Coral Gables man has been sentenced to a year and a half in prison for illegally exporting military night vision equipment.

Anthony Torresi, who pled guilty, was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore.

Torresi, 34, will also spend three years on supervised release.

According to his plea agreement, Torresi listed night vision goggles and other equipment for sale on eBay, selling the equipment to undercover agents he believed were in New Zealand, but actually were in Baltimore. Prosecutors say he exported the equipment without applying for a license to export the items.
