Funeral Info Released For BSO Deputy Killed In Motorcycle Crash
POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – Funeral services for a Broward County Sheriff's deputy, who died after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car, will take place next week.
A viewing for Dep. Christopher Schaub is scheduled to take place at First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach, 138 NE 1st Street in Pompano Beach, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 1st.
His funeral will take place at Calvary Chapel of Fort Lauderdale, 2401 W. Cypress Creek Rd., at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2nd.
Tuesday's service will include a full police escort with honors and is expected to be attended by a large number of family, friends and law enforcement officers from South Florida and out-of-town.
Schaub died Wednesday night, several hours after the accident near the intersection of West McNab Road and North Andrews Avenue in Pompano Beach.
His BSO motorcycle collided with a silver Mercedes-Benz. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz was not seriously hurt.
Chris was a 22-year veteran of the agency. His son, Tim, followed in his father's footsteps and proudly serves the Broward Sheriff's Office as a deputy sheriff. Chris is survived by his son, Tim, and daughter, Kaitlyn.
