Funeral For 12-Year-Old Miami Gardens Shooting Victim
MIAMI GARDENS (CBS4) – A young girl killed by a bullet that came through a wall and into her grandmother's home will be laid to rest Saturday.
Family and friends gathered at 12-year-old Tequila Forshee's wake Friday night.
At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, a "Celebration of Life" is scheduled at the Cooper Temple Church of God in Christ located at 3800 NW 199th Street in Miami Gardens. That'll be followed by the interment at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 NW 57th Avenue in Miami Lakes.
A bullet fired from outside Forshee's home traveled inside the house and struck her in the head Wednesday August 14th, as her hair was being braided in preparation for the new school year.
She died at the home.
Miami Gardens Deputy Police Chief Paul Miller said they're looking for 4 people between 15 and 18 years old.
He said investigators were told the people were riding two bicycles, doubled up, near the scene the night of the shooting.
The reward stands at $30,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
