Ft. Lauderdale Man Accused Of Fraudulently Ringing Up Massive Bill At Local Hotel

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami Beach Police are accusing a Ft. Lauderdale man of fraudulently ringing up a $174,000 tab at a posh South Beach hotel while he posed as an entertainment executive.

James Sabatino, 36, was arrested Friday September 27th and charged with first degree grand theft and organized fraud after he allegedly rang up the massive bill at the Hilton Bentley Miami/South Beach.

According to the arrest report, Sabatino checked into the hotel on August 22nd while pretending to be a Sony Entertainment executive and stayed at the hotel for five weeks.

Sabatino, according to authorities, put five rooms on the Sony Entertainment Corporate account.

According to the hotel, Sabatino rang up a bill of $174,000 on the rooms which included more than $100,000 worth of champagne.

Sabatino was also charged with unlawful sex with a minor and possession of child porn after he was found in a hotel room with a 17-year-old girl.

The arrest report in that case states she had been living with him for about three weeks and police found nude pictures of her on his cell phone.
