FSU's Jenkins To Skip Senior Season, Go To NFL Instead
TALLAHASSEE (AP) — Florida State All-America defensive end Brandon Jenkins has decided not to take a medical hardship and return for his senior season, opting to move on and play in the NFL.
Jenkins suffered a season-ending foot injury in the Seminoles' season-opener against Murray State. He had surgery on the foot and is in a walking boot until the end of November, when he can begin rehabilitation.
The Tallahassee native had returned to Florida State in 2012 for his senior season, looking to build on the 21.5 sacks and 36.5 tackles for loss that he had accumulated in his career. But his season was halted in the first half of Florida State's opening game.
Jenkins said he is on track to graduate with his degree in Sociology on Dec. 14.
