FSU To Play Boise State In 2019 & 2020
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Florida State University has never backed down from a challenge on the football and that's just what the Seminoles will face with their newest non-conference opponent, the Boise State University Broncos.
FSU announced Monday that it has agreed to play a home-and-home series with Boise State in the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Boise State will come to Tallahassee on September 7, 2019 and then FSU will travel to Boise on Sept. 12, 2020.
The series will be the first meeting of the two football powerhouses.
Boise State became a giant-killer in recent years, taking down many top programs including Oklahoma and Georgia. The Broncos have been national title contenders until the Broncos struggled last season. Over the last 11 seasons, Boise has a 129-15 record and 11 consecutive bowl appearances.
Boise State head coach Chris Petersen is 84-8 since taking over the Boise State program in 2006.
In many ways, Boise is a reflection of FSU from years ago. The Noles became a national power by playing anyone, anywhere, at any time and beating those schools, which is the same philosophy Boise has had in recent years.
