FSU Receiver Arrested For Alleged Sex Assault

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Greg Dent faces charges of sexual assault on a person over the age of 12 after he was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department.

Dent was arrested Sunday night and was expected to make his first court appearance Monday morning. According to Tallahassee Police, Dent and the victim were close friends and that on the night in question Dent and the victim had gone out to a night club.

The victim told police she and Dent returned to his apartment and she had planned to stay the night, which she said she had done previously without problem. According to police, the victim said she awoke to Dent trying to kiss her and she repeatedly told him no.

The victim said she at one point bit Dent on his top lip to stop him and later grabbed his hair and punched him in the head with her free hand during the alleged assault. Police said the victim repeatedly told Dent to stop and to let her go during the alleged assault.

Dent is originally from Belle Glade Florida and was set to be a redshirt senior this fall. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Dent was repeatedly praised during spring practice by head coach Jimbo Fisher for his development on the field.

However, Dent will not be allowed to participate in any athletics while he's facing felony charges, according to Warchant.com.
