FSU Or Auburn - CBS4 Staff Makes Their Picks

PASADENA (CBSMiami) - Fans of the Florida State Seminoles and Auburn Tigers have just hours until kickoff and everyone is making their last-second pick on which team will bring home the crystal football.

Florida State enters the game as the proverbial juggernaut, loaded with NFL-caliber talent, and blowing teams off the field throughout the regular season.

Auburn comes into the BCS title game as a team of destiny on the back of the Miracle at Jordan-Hare, the Kick-Six, and a complete demolition of the Missouri Tigers in the SEC Championship game.

Oddsmakers in Las Vegas have made the Seminoles a 10-point favorite over the Tigers in the BCS game Monday night.

Here at CBSMiami.com and CBS4, the consensus opinion is that Florida State should bring home another national championship by the time the game is over, though at least two people believe in the Tigers.

"I'm a Cane, but after paying four years tuition for my daughter Erica to attend and graduate from FSU I think I have a right to say "Go Noles!" - CBS4 anchor Eliott Rodriguez

"Auburn. Because as Gene Wilder so aptly declared in Young Frankenstein, "Destiny! Destiny! No escaping that for me!" - CBS4's Jim DeFede

"FSU all the way! After a decade of sub-par football the Seminoles are back. It doesn't hurt that the SEC had fallen apart in recent weeks too!" - CBS4 reporter, and FSU grad, David Sutta (Editors note: SEC postseason record 7-2; ACC postseason record 4-6 [sorry David!])

"I love a good underdog story, and the SEC (Go Gators!, so I will pick Auburn to win. I just can't find it in me to root for the Seminoles, unless they're playing the Canes, in which case garnet and gold is the lesser of two evils in my opinion." - CBS4 reporter Lauren Pastrana

As for me, Florida State appears to have the advantage at just about every position except destiny, as DeFede said. The Seminoles should be able to easily handle the Tigers in the title game. But, don't be surprised if Auburn gives FSU a lot more than they can handle throughout the game.

If it's a close game in the fourth quarter...FSU fans should be nervous...VERY nervous.
