FSU CB Headed To NFL
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – Fresh off a victory in the Orange Bowl, the Florida State Seminoles will be losing another member of the team's top ranked defense to the National Football League.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat, FSU junior cornerback Xavier Rhodes said he would declare for the NFL Draft just after the Orange Bowl victory. Rhodes was a first-team All ACC selection and is one of the top corners available in the draft.
Rhodes is the second FSU defender to declare for the draft. Last November, defensive tackle/end Brandon Jenkins also said he would leave for the NFL instead of trying to get a medical redshirt for an extra season at FSU.
FSU may lose more members of the vaunted defense in the coming weeks. Junior defensive end Bjoern Werner may turn pro as well. He's projected to be a top 10 pick, possibly as high as number two overall.
FSU junior linebacker Christian Jones and junior safety Lamarcus Joyner also have to decide their future in the next few weeks.
