Free Hunter Safety Courses Offered In Broward County
SUNRISE (CBSMiami/AP) — Many hunters know they need to use caution while wielding a weapon, but it doesn't hurt to get a refresher on being safety.
That's why the state wildlife commission is offering a free hunter safety course in Broward County.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will host the course on Saturday in Sunrise at the Markham Park Shooting Range clubhouse.
A commission statement says participants must complete the online portion of the course before attending Saturday's event.
Students will learn about hunting laws, safe gun handling and hunter ethics and responsibility, among other topics, before taking the final test.
The course also includes live-firing instruction on a shooting range.
Participants can sign up by clicking here or by calling (561) 625-5122.
Parents or legal guardians must accompany children under 16 years of age to all classes.
