Four Dead In Plane Crash Off Grand Bahama
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Bahamian authorities have reported that there were not survivors of plane crash off Grand Bahama Island.
The Bahamian Civil Aviation Department said the single engine Cirrus 22 ditched in low waters approximately seven miles north of the Freeport Control Tower just before 11 a.m. Sunday.
The four people on board the plane, two males and two females, are believed to be Americans. Their identities have not been released. They were on a sightseeing trip when the pilot radioed the tower that the plane was having engine problems.
Bad weather does not appear to have been a factor in the crash. There were light winds, broken clouds and visibility was more than 10 miles.
The plane, which was destroyed, was registered to First Class Flyers LLC which is based out of Indiana.
