MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Lawyer Mark S. Gold made his name helping drivers get out of legal trouble with the Ticket Clinic, but now he may need some legal help of his own.
Gold, 58, was arrested on charges of domestic battery by strangulation on Miami Beach and booked into jail around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
According to Miami Beach Police, the victim told authorities that she had just flown in from Texas and that she and her fiancee had gotten into a fight over things he found on Facebook about her.
The victim said the fight escalated and that Gold hit her in the face with his hand and then pushed her to the ground.
The founder of the Ticket Clinic was given a bond of $5,000 and ordered released on his own recognizance.
Gold is no stranger to the limelight. A couple of years ago he sued the Gold Rush strip club over a $19,000 bill he rang up in one night.
In the lawsuit, Gold claimed the strip club continued to serve him despite him being "intoxicated, partially, or temporarily unconscious," and that he shouldn't be forced to pay the bill due to the clubs actions.
