Former NBA Player Kenny Anderson Arrested In Broward County
PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) – Former NBA star point guard Kenny Anderson found himself on the wrong side of the law in Broward County over the weekend.
Anderson, 42, was arrested early Saturday morning on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failing to use a signal for a lane change, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
According to the arresting officer, Anderson failed a roadside sobriety test and after initially refusing, agreed to a breathalyzer test.
The arrest affidavit stated Anderson blew a .194 and a .195, more than twice the legal limit of .08.
Anderson is originally from New York, but lives in South Florida now. He played his college ball at Georgia Tech before becoming the second overall pick in the 1991 NBA Draft for the New Jersey Nets and played in the NBA from 1991-2005.
For his NBA career, Anderson scored 10,789 points, handed out 5,196 assists and had 1,258 steals. Anderson was also an NBA All-Star in 1994.
