Ford Recalls More Than A Million F-150s
MIAMI (CBS4) - If you're driving around in an older model Ford F-150 truck you may soon be getting a recall notice in the mail.
Ford Motor Co. has expanded an earlier recall to include nearly 1.2 million F-150s which have been the best selling truck in the U.S. for more than three decades. The recall covers the 2004 through 2006 model years.
Last February, the company originally only recalled about 150,000 of the trucks. On Thursday U.S. safety regulators said that Ford added to the recall because the trucks' air bags can go off unexpectedly and injure drivers.
Ford said if the vehicle's airbag warning light goes on and stays on when the truck is running, owners should bring it in right away. If the light is ignored, in some circumstances, the driver's side front airbag could deploy unexpectedly.
