Fmr. Miami Man Charged With Child Human Trafficking
ORLANDO (CBSMiami) – A 46-year old former Miami man was charged after he allegedly tried to pick up a "parent" and his "son" for sex on the internet.
Last year, investigators with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement began looking into the online activity of Donald W. Purviance when he lived in Biscayne Park after they received an anonymous tip.
In 2012, Purviance moved to Orlando where he allegedly solicited an undercover agent who he thought was the parent of a 14-year old boy. He then reportedly offered to pay the agent $750 to have sex with the father and the son.
On Monday, FDLE agents arrested Purviance. He's been charged with solicitation of a parent, human trafficking, soliciting the procurement of a minor for prostitution and attempted lewd and lascivious battery.
Agents believe that there could be more victims of human trafficking in connection with Purviance.
Anyone who has tips or information about Purviance is encouraged to contact special agent Michelle Bufalino at 786-336-1000 or your local law enforcement agency.
