Florida Senate Unanimously Passes Parasailing Regulations
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) - After drawing attention for several parasailing accidents, the Florida Senate took a step forward Thursday by approving a bill that will place government regulations on the industry.
The issue moved to the forefront after two Indiana teens were seriously injured while parasailing in Panama City Beach.
The bill would ban commercial parasailing during certain weather conditions based on wind speeds and include a requirement that commercial parasailing operators have at least $1 million in liability insurance.
The House version of the bill has made sailed through two subcommittees and is currently in front of the Regulatory Affairs Committee.
