Florida Man Reportedly Killed Ex, Kept Body In Trunk
POLK CITY (CBSMiami/AP) – A central Florida man has been charged after he reportedly strangled his ex-girlfriend and then drove around with her body in the trunk of his car for two days before dumping it.
Twenty year old Laura Michelle Hunt's body was found Tuesday in a wooded area in Polk City. The Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested Hunt's ex-boyfriend, 21-year old Patrick Eugene Wilkey of Auburndale, on Wednesday. He's charged with first-degree murder.
The sheriff's office says Wilkey confessed to choking Hunt to death after becoming angry with her early Sunday.
An arrest report says Wilkey kept Hunt's body in the trunk until dumping the body Monday and abandoning the car.
Wilkey is no stranger to the law. Past charges include petite theft, burglary, grand theft of a firearm and dealing in stolen property.
